In the death of James V. Gurney Poughkeepsie has lost another of its prominent veterans of the Civil War. Mr. Gurney passed away at Vassar Home for Aged Men Thursday. He was seventy-eight years old. Mr. Gurney had lived in Poughkeepsie for many years and he was an old member of Hamilton-Sleight Post, G. A. R.
